The Faculty of Physical Education and Sports within the „Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iaşi has three specializations: Sport and Physical Education, Sports  and motor performance, Kinetic Therapy and Special Motricity. These specializations prepare students to become teachers of physical education and sports, coaches, physiotherapists, sports instructors with the mission of educating children and adolescents in the education system and in the field of sports. The whole process of formation and improvement of humans from birth throughout life must be organized, based on scientific grounds and ordered in accordance with the principles and laws of the discipline. Physical education is a component of lifelong learning, having a role in maintaining optimal health.

Kinetic therapy specialists acquire skills and knowledge for the activity of recovery and post-traumatic treatment.

The duration of the studies is 3 years, the graduates obtaining the title of bachelor in physical education and sports, respectively bachelor in kinetic therapy.

The educational process is carried out on the basis of the European system of transferable credits, the students optionally going through the disciplines that make up the psycho – pedagogical module, which will allow them to exercise the teaching profession at all levels of general and university education.

Graduates of the bachelor’s cycle can complete accredited master’s programs, both in the field of Sports Science and physical education, as well as in the specialization “Kinetic Therapy and Special Motor Skills”.

The Faculty of Physical Education and Sports has its own, modern material base for the development of practical-methodical lessons, classrooms and seminar rooms for the development of theoretical activities, methodical offices and a rich specialized library, which provides students with informative materials for a quality education.

Another direction of the activity of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports is the scientific research, which is carried out in accordance with the strategic plan of the University, materialized in papers and scientific articles published in specialized journals.

The Faculty of Physical Education and Sports develops collaborations with universities from France, Portugal, Moldova, Germany, Turkey within the European Erasmus programs and with all the Faculties of Physical Education and Sports in Romania.
